Good Burger is back 🍔

A '90s classic gets a redo.

It’s Wednesday and with Halloween in the rearview mirror, streaming services are turning their attention to a new holiday: Godzilla Day.

WHILE THE GEFFEN IS GOOD

YouTube is headed back to New York’s David Geffen Hall for Brandcast 2024 (and 2025 and 2026)

YouTube is making a long-term commitment to Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall. The Manhattan venue was the site of YouTube’s 2023 Brandcast—and apparently, it made a good impression. According to a post from YouTube Ads Marketing VP Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, David Geffen Hall will be the site of the platform’s annual pitch to advertisers in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

“We’re excited to highlight even more creator stories, innovative new features, and award-winning advertising on YouTube again at Brandcast to inspire your next breakthrough campaign.”

This isn’t YouTube’s first NYC rodeo.

Before going remote in 2022 (the same year Brandcast pivoted to a date aligned with the TV industry’s upfronts), the event had been held at several venues across the city. Now, YouTube is choosing a semi-permanent location for its presentation.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the platform is done shaking things up.

In addition to its yearly Brandcast, YouTube has another annual event on the horizon: AdBlitz. The Google-owned company has been hosting Super Bowl commercials on a central YouTube hub for 18 years now, but this year’s AdBlitz offers more promotional opportunities than ever before. After all, the current NFL season is YouTube’s first as the official distributor of the NFL Sunday Ticket package—a multi-billion-dollar role that the platform is bound to capitalize on in a big way.

These creators know exactly how to put on a show

Whether they’re acting out superhero skits or wandering the mall in light-up gowns, the creators behind V.A. Show always make an impression. In fact, those YouTube stars have spent the last decade treating fans to everything from Disney cosplays to classic dance choreo (e.g. the Macarena).

A good chunk of those videos feature dramatic costumes and neon lights—but V.A. Show doesn’t just rely on flashiness to entertain its loyal following.

Among the channel’s top videos are a series of impressive ice skating Shorts. The most popular of those clips has earned V.A.’s creators a whopping 230 million views—and that’s just one video. Altogether, the hub’s top six Shorts have garnered over one billion views.

Unsurprisingly, V.A. Show has a sky-high lifetime view count.

  • Since 2012, the Russia-based channel has scored more than 3.2 billion views.

  • The hub is just as popular as ever. In fact, over the course of our last seven-day count, V.A. Show pulled in 204.3 million weekly views.

  • The result: the channel jumped from 195th place in our worldwide ranking to #38.

THAT’S A GOOD BURGER

Kai Cenat is hitting Paramount Plus for a cameo in a nostalgic ‘90s sequel

Good Burger is back and Kai Cenat is ready to chow down. The record-breaking Twitch streamer will play a bit part as a patron in Good Burger 2, a follow-up to the iconic (and critically panned) film that has remained a fan favorite since its 1997 release.

Original cast members are coming back for seconds.

This year’s sequel will be led by two of Good Burger’s most recognizable stars: All That alums Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Subscribers who tune into the film’s November 22nd premiere on Paramount Plus can also expect to see a litany of appearances from both Hollywood celebs and digital creators.

All That members Josh Server and Lori Beth Denberg will have significant roles in the film, while celebs like Mark Cuban and Rob Gronkowski and creators Flula Borg, Liza Koshy, and Cenat will make cameo appearances. The last of those online stars took to Twitch earlier this week to reveal the circumstances of his casting:

“You wanna know what’s so crazy? Chat, if you remember, there’s a clip on Twitch of people saying Kai would be good in Good Burger. A girl called me [right after] and asked if I wanted to be in Good Burger 2.”
