15 MINUTES OF FAME

TikTok’s latest test feature is a big deal for long-form creators

TikTok is taking its commitment to long-form content one step further. Since upping its max video length to 10 minutes last year, the platform has nudged creators and users alike towards longer clips by introducing long-form-friendly tools and an incentive-focused Creativity Program.

Now, TikTok is doubling down on that mission by testing out yet another video length increase.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra first posted about the limited expansion earlier this week, when he uploaded an image of the alleged test feature to Threads.

Matt Navarra’s Threads post included an image of TikTok’s latest test feature.

TikTok has since confirmed to TechCrunch that it is, in fact, experimenting with 15-minute uploads—but it’s still unclear whether users can expect to see a wider rollout anytime soon. For now, the test is limited to a select group of users in a few specific regions.

NO TIME FOR TEARS

Noel Miller’s latest comedy special just dropped. His next big tour is almost here.

Noel Miller is going back to his roots.

If you’re not familiar with the creator’s story, here’s the gist: in the days before he became a standout YouTube star, Miller was a self-taught web developer with an interest in stand-up comedy. That burgeoning passion led him to an open-mic night, where he performed after getting a little encouragement from comedian Andre Paradise. Miller then began posting Vines in the hopes of scoring longer gigs—and the rest is history.

“It led me down a weird road where the internet stuff took off so much so that it took me away from stand-up.”

Since rising to fame on Vine and YouTube, the comedian has accumulated millions of fans, co-hosted the uber-popular Tiny Meat Gang podcast, toured with Cody Ko, and traveled the world for his own Everything Is F**ked tour. Miller says that it can be “tough to have a purist approach” while working online—but when it comes to his latest stand-up routines, the podcaster is committed to being “100% creative.”

YouTube viewers can get a taste of that creativity before Miller’s New Supply tour takes off on January 12, 2024.

The creator’s new comedy special, Stop Crying, dropped on YouTube yesterday—the same day tickets went on sale for his upcoming New Supply tour. Check out our full article here to learn more about that 15-city comedy circuit.

Is MrBeast Shark Tank material?

Mark Cuban doesn’t seem to think so—and we can’t really blame him. The shark-slash-billionaire dropped into one of MrBeast’s latest Shorts to hear his (comedic) pitch for a $1 million investment. The YouTuber’s big argument: having a little extra spending money would be a whole lot of fun.
