Rumble stock is surging and MrBeast has competition
Have you heard?
TOGETHER WITH
It's Sunday and here’s a handpicked selection of stories to give you a snapshot of trends, updates, business moves, and more from around the creator industry.
But first, Moo Deng has some competition. The Edinburgh Zoo just announced the birth of Haggis, its newborn pygmy hippo. A rivalry was instantly manufactured only to be ended hours later. “There is space in this world for two beautiful pygmy hippo divas,” the Scottish zoo wrote, “and we should celebrate them all.”
TALKING POLITICS
Politics as usual? Here’s how Election Day is shaking up the creator economy:
Stock market response: Rumble stock is going up, up, up. The right-leaning streaming hub had its biggest audience ever on Election Day, and its stock price has risen by about 6% since then. (For what it’s worth, Truth Social stock is already on its way back down.)
Creator commotion: There’s a new Trump on YouTube. Kai Trump is Donald Jr.’s daughter and Donald Sr.’s granddaughter. She’s a golf enthusiast who now has her own YouTube channel. So it begins…
Celebrity input: David Letterman’s YouTube channel subtweeted Trump voters. The former late-night host uploaded a choice selection of archival clips after the 2024 election. Based on his choice of posts (an attack on undecided voters and a live performance of Green Day’s “American Idiot”), it’s clear where Letterman stands on this year’s electoral outcome. Also, Letterman has an active YouTube channel?!

PLATFORM PERSPECTIVE
TikTok, Reddit, and Kajabi had one heck of a Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Good tidings from TikTok: In October, TikTok wished creators a happy and safe Cybersecurity Awareness Month. That celebration might seem ironic for a platform that struggles to secure user data, but it’s all part of TikTok’s plan to promote transparency after enduring criticism related to surreptitious data practices.
Reddit research: Banks are turning to Reddit for financial updates. By examining user behavior on popular subreddits, banks can perform research about customer preferences. Let’s just hope they can tell a troll from an earnest user.
Creator reality check: Kajabi’s “reality check” campaign tells some difficult truths. Despite the buzz around the creator economy, results are uneven, with some creators struggling to make a living off their work. Kajabi—which offers a variety of influencer-facing tools and services—wants to be the platform that brings equity to the creator space.
BIZ BREAKDOWN
Cristiano Ronaldo, Texas, and Hungry Boy are so hot right now
YouTube rivalries: Cristiano Ronaldo is projected to surpass MrBeast as the world’s most-subscribed YouTuber in August 2026 (and earn $99 million in the process). We’re not surprised: after all, Ronaldo is investing substantial resources on YouTube, so his high earnings and fast growth are to be expected.
Man on the move: Keith Lee is the latest creator to catch the Texas bug. TikTok’s favorite food critic is moving to Houston. At this point, has The Lone Star State usurped California as the epicenter of the creator community?
Creator product alert: “The Boys” have a new hot sauce. No, not the Amazon series. We’re talking about the creator collective consisting of EddieVR, Your Narrator, JoshDub, Juicy, and Mully, who are doing spicy things through their Hungry Boy brand. Sean Evans, you listening?

Feeling down about the election? Take a deep breath with Steve from Blue’s Clues.
Feeling blue: As the U.S. adjusts to its new normal, Steve Burns from Blue’s Clues is reminding disappointed voters to take a breather. The one-time adult in the room on children’s TV took to TikTok to console bitter Americans after the reelection of Donald Trump. For many, a regression to childhood probably feels fitting for this era of history.
